My 7-Year Anniversary & The Year-End Round-Up

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for a wonderful 2013.  After all that’s gone on this year, I’m officially calling this “The Year Of The Gay”.  Cool

I hope this site helped our amazing LGBT youth find solace, find humor and/or find themselves in a better situation.  Mostly, however, I hope this site helped — or, even saved — a life or two.

I built this blog, originally, to battle Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church gang of bullies, minions, miscreants, and monsters…then it became a site to battle all bullies.  When I began receiving numerous emails from suffering LGBT youth, I switched modes again. Everything remained anti-bullying-themed, but my targets and emotions changed a tad.  My heart sank at the first email I received stating that my site helped someone (like this depressed teen boy).

Also…I didn’t buy and use our domain name for shock value, but rather to be the antithesis to  Mostly, though, to make fun of them. :)

I won’t be posting for the next little bit, as my amazing husband and I celebrate our 7-year Anniversary (and the holidays).  I will be back soon to wow you with my incredible talent, humor, and humble narcissism.  HA!

Until then, please enjoy my newest “Homer Simpson” parody!

And, of course:  ”If you are a young person who is in crisis, feeling suicidal, or in need of a safe and judgment-free place to talk, call The Trevor Lifeline now at 866-488-7386.  The Trevor Project’s trained counselors are here to support you 24/7.”  –

Until next year, my friends…

Your Pal,

Big Gay Al

P.S.  Here is my favorite quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson (my cousin!)

“To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
to leave the world a little better,
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is the meaning of success.”
